CBD Oil – What is the Mechanism of Action
To understand how CBD works, we first need to study the endocannabinoid system. In short, this system is made up of cannabinoid receptors scattered throughout the body. By modulating the release of neurotransmitters, the endocannabinoid system can regulate several physiological functions, including cognition, memory, sleep, pain sensation, appetite, immune reactions, mood and much more with the best cbd oil.
But, if we are not taking cannabis, how is this system activated? First, the human body independently produces cannabinoids, called endocannabinoids. Also, cannabinoids are present in the fruits and vegetables we eat every day! Like endocannabinoids, these phytocannabinoids are also metabolized by the body and interact directly or indirectly with receptors.
Some of these receptors, called CB1 receptors, are located in the central and peripheral nervous systems, with high concentrations in the hippocampus and amygdala areas. For the uninitiated, these parts of the brain are associated with memory, fear and emotions. The other cannabinoid receptors, CB2, are instead located in immune cells, lymphoid tissue and nerves.
How Is CBD Extracted In CBD Oils?
The most reliable CBD producers usually use supercritical CO₂ to extract the molecule, but there are many other techniques, which usually involve the use of solvents such as butane, hydrocarbon or steam. These extraction methods are not equally effective and can affect the purity and flavor of the final product.
These Seeds, we use the supercritical CO₂ extraction technique, one of the cleanest and most eco-friendly procedures currently available. This allows us to obtain a pure product, free of toxins . We do not use ethanol, butane or any other substance that has the potential to contaminate CBD oil or leave harmful residues.
Vector Oils
Carrier oil is another element that can affect the overall quality of CBD oil. Pure CBD, especially in isolated form, does not taste particularly pleasant. Furthermore, consumed alone, it is often wasted as it is difficult to assimilate. The carrier oil, on the other hand, increases the bioavailability of CBD. As a result, the body can metabolize it more easily. The carrier oil allows to measure the doses with precision and attenuates the bitter taste of the substance.
Carrier oils may vary based on the manufacturer and processing process chosen. However, the most used are hemp seed oils and olive oils.
Hemp Seed Oil
Hemp seed oil makes a great carrier for CBD oil. The result is a complete CBD oil, which encompasses all the virtues of the hemp plant. By itself, hemp seed oil exhibits high nutritional value, as it contains Omega 6 and Omega 3 essential fatty acids in a 3: 1 ratio.
